Premier Kim inspects agricultural sector in South Hwanghae Province
September 9, 2024Premier Kim Tok Hun, who is also member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and vice-president of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, inspected the agricultural sector of South Hwanghae Province.
As he visited farms in Jaeryong, Anak, Sinchon, Thaethan, Pyoksong, Chongdan and Yonan counties and other areas, he said agricultural officials in the province should plan and guide the immediate farming processes more effectively, bearing in mind the importance of duty they assume for attaining the grain production goal for this year.
He stressed the need to set the right harvest time in consideration of the ripening rate of rice ears and weather conditions scientifically as the growth of paddy rice has entered the final stage and concentrate efforts and means on harvesting it in time without loss, while making preparations for next year’s wheat and barley farming in a far-sighted way.
He noted they should make full preparations to thoroughly cope with the influence of extreme weather conditions including typhoon that occurs mostly in autumn, heighten the enthusiasm of agricultural workers for production and steadily improve the agricultural management.
Learning about the situation of grain management in Anak and other counties, the premier stressed the need to be well informed about the requirements of the Party's policies, increase the drying and storage capacity of grain and positively introduce advanced grain processing techniques so that they would prove their effect vividly in reality.
The field consultative meetings discussed the issue of concentrating all efforts on successfully finishing this year’s farming, the issue of further increasing the proportion of mechanization in carrying out the farming processes and pushing ahead with the work of introducing superior farming methods in a planned manner.
Earlier, he learned about the production of various kinds of equipment for regional-industry factories on an experimental basis and emphasized the necessity to make custom-built equipment on high quality by widely applying advanced science and technology to thoroughly implement the Party's regional development policy.
